MASSY WCPL 2025 PLAYER DRAFT SHOW TO AIR ON 23 JUNE

The Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) is excited to announce that the official player draft show for the 2025 season will be broadcast on Monday, 23 June at 10am ECT/3pm BST/7:30pm IST. Fans across the region and around the world can tune in to catch all the action as the next chapter of WCPL cricket begins.

The show will be broadcast on the CPL’s YouTube and Facebook pages.

Hosted by the charismatic Alex Jordan, the show will feature in-depth analysis and expert insights from cricket pundits Daren Ganga and Nikhil Uttamchandani. Viewers will get the exclusive first look at the full line-ups for the upcoming season, as the retained, signed, and newly drafted players for all three WCPL franchises are officially unveiled.

This year’s WCPL will feature the following teams:

• Barbados Royals

• Guyana Amazon Warriors

• Trinbago Knight Riders

The 2025 tournament is scheduled to run from 6 to 17 September with all matches set to take place at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence. The tournament will feature six group games before the top two teams compete in the final to decide who takes home the WCPL trophy.

With a blend of seasoned stars and rising talent, the draft show will set the tone for what promises to be another spectacular season of WCPL cricket.

ABOUT THE MASSY WOMEN’S CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE:

The Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) was founded in 2022. The 2024 season saw an expanded schedule with the Barbados Royals winning their second title. The three teams competing in the 2025 season will be the Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders. The WCPL sees the best players from across the region joined by outstanding overseas talent from around the world to play in front of crowds with the party atmosphere for which the Caribbean is so famous. ​

The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League was founded in 2013 and sees the best men’s players from across the region join overseas superstars for world class T20 cricket.

ABOUT THE CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE

First started in 2013, the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is a franchise-based T20 format cricket tournament that combines two of the most compelling aspects of Caribbean life – dramatic cricket and a vibrant Carnival atmosphere. The broadcast and digital viewership in 2025 was 1.17 billion to make it one of the most watched leagues in world cricket. Trinbago Knight Riders are the current Republic Bank CPL champions, and the other franchise teams are Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Kingsmen, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Saint Lucia Kings.
