BYD ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP OF THE REPUBLIC BANK CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE

The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) today proudly announces BYD, the world’s No. 1 new energy vehicle brand by sales, as an official sponsor for the tournament. This landmark partnership brings together the Caribbean’s biggest cricket celebration and one of the world’s leading innovators in sustainable mobility and clean energy solutions.

Founded in 1994, BYD is a global high-tech company dedicated to leveraging technological innovations for a better life. Over the past three decades, BYD has become a powerhouse across electronics, automotive, renewable energy, and rail transit, focusing on integrated solutions for clean energy acquisition, storage, and application.

The brand’s automotive division leads the world in new energy vehicle sales and continues to expand its footprint globally. In the Caribbean, BYD is already represented in Antigua, Aruba, Bonaire, Barbados, Curaçao, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad, with a new Saint Lucia showroom set to open before the end of the year.

ABOUT THE CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE

First started in 2013, the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is a franchise-based T20 format cricket tournament that combines two of the most compelling aspects of Caribbean life – dramatic cricket and a vibrant Carnival atmosphere. The 2025 tournament will take place from 14 August to 21 September.
