    "body": "<p>The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) generated a total event impact of US$29.9 million for Saint Lucia during the 2025 tournament, according to an independent Economic Impact Assessment conducted by GSIQ.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Five CPL matches played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground delivered a direct economic impact of US$24.5 million, alongside US$5.4 million in international media value promoting Saint Lucia across global broadcast, digital and social media platforms.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">A total of 29,993 fans attended CPL matches in Saint Lucia, including 4,877 international visitors. Visiting fans stayed an average of five nights and spent an average of US$3,300 per trip, contributing US$22.1 million in attendee spending that supported accommodation providers, restaurants, transport operators and local businesses across the island.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">CPL&rsquo;s direct investment into Saint Lucia continued to generate local economic benefits. In 2025, the tournament spent US$2.1 million locally, creating 98 new jobs, investing US$974,000 with local suppliers, and spending US$576,000 on salaries. The tournament also supported community initiatives including development cricket and CSR programmes.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">In addition to the direct economic contribution, Saint Lucia benefited from significant global exposure through the tournament. The event generated US$5.4 million in international media value, with broadcast coverage accounting for US$5.1 million of that total. India proved to be the most valuable broadcast market, demonstrating the CPL&rsquo;s global reach and its ability to showcase Saint Lucia to audiences around the world.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Pete Russell, CEO of the Caribbean Premier League, said:</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">&ldquo;Saint Lucia continues to be one of the most iconic venues in the CPL. Delivering an event impact of US$29.9 million shows the real value the tournament brings to the island &ndash; from visitor spending and job creation to global media exposure.
