REPUBLIC BANK CPL DELIVERS US$29.9 MILLION FOR SAINT LUCIA IN 2025

The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) generated a total event impact of US$29.9 million for Saint Lucia during the 2025 tournament, according to an independent Economic Impact Assessment conducted by GSIQ.

Five CPL matches played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground delivered a direct economic impact of US$24.5 million, alongside US$5.4 million in international media value promoting Saint Lucia across global broadcast, digital and social media platforms.

A total of 29,993 fans attended CPL matches in Saint Lucia, including 4,877 international visitors. Visiting fans stayed an average of five nights and spent an average of US$3,300 per trip, contributing US$22.1 million in attendee spending that supported accommodation providers, restaurants, transport operators and local businesses across the island.

CPL’s direct investment into Saint Lucia continued to generate local economic benefits. In 2025, the tournament spent US$2.1 million locally, creating 98 new jobs, investing US$974,000 with local suppliers, and spending US$576,000 on salaries. The tournament also supported community initiatives including development cricket and CSR programmes.

In addition to the direct economic contribution, Saint Lucia benefited from significant global exposure through the tournament. The event generated US$5.4 million in international media value, with broadcast coverage accounting for US$5.1 million of that total. India proved to be the most valuable broadcast market, demonstrating the CPL’s global reach and its ability to showcase Saint Lucia to audiences around the world.

Pete Russell, CEO of the Caribbean Premier League, said:

“Saint Lucia continues to be one of the most iconic venues in the CPL. Delivering an event impact of US$29.9 million shows the real value the tournament brings to the island – from visitor spending and job creation to global media exposure. The atmosphere at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground is always incredible, and the passion of Saint Lucian fans plays a huge role in making CPL such a special tournament.”
